Dance for Heart is starting soon! If you’re new to Westgate, Dance for Heart is a fundraiser for the American Heart Association. The American Heart Association is a group of doctors trying to stop heart disease. They have to earn money so they can study heart disease. One donation is one step closer to saving someone’s life! So go online, text/email your family, and let the donations roll in! If you hit certain checkpoints in donation amounts, you can get heart heroes which are toys to collect . So let’s get a lot of money, because there is no such thing as too much donations. Let’s help these kids!

Westgate’s leadership night was on January 24, 2019. Students could enjoy the book fair, take fun family photos, show parents around class, and stamp the big rocks and little rocks on the student passport. In class, the students learned about big rocks and little rocks. Big rocks are the important things that you have to do first. The little rocks are the less important things that you can choose to do when you finish with the big rocks. It was a blast!
We hope it is even more fun next year! Leadership Night Will Be An Amazing Experience For Kids And Their Parents Too. Every student will have a “passport” to go around the Leader In Me School. As you adventure around Westgate, you will get stamps for visiting different places [like the 4th grade tree and photo area]. Make sure you do your big rocks with your families and then move on to the little rocks!
Now, to talk about…….. THE BOOK FAIR!!! There will be amazing books here like…….. DOG MAN: BRAWL OF THE WILD! Plus, there will be some gaming books there, such as roblox and more! There are books for every category in the world! (well, maybe not in the whole world) 1/24/19 7:00 - 8:00. See ya there! (mic drop) Happy new year Westgate! Hope you had a great break. Now that we are back, we need to remember to follow the expectations on these pictures. Be a Leader!
We met our goal of 20,000 dollars to go to Westgate pta through orange ruler! Orange ruler is a program that helps get kids excited to help donate to the school. One thing that helped us was we synergized together in our classes and whole school. After we reached our goal each grade had a silly string party for all the grades. I think all the students had a great time. Mrs. Arce’s class great job on winning the orange ruler!
We recently had our amazing, third annual Westgate leadership Day and our Westgate Leaders did a great job with showing our guests everything about leadership and the Leader In Me at Westgate. The day started off with fun poster sessions that were showing our guest how Westgate leaders use the habits and what they do to help out at our school. Then we had an opening presentation where we shared who we are and how we use the habits with the adults that visited. Then after all of that we had great building tours around the whole school where the tour guides shared a ton of different things that westgate does with the 7 habits. At the very end before everybody left there was a question and answer session where our visitors could ask our Westgate student or teacher leaders any question about the amazing 7 habit and the leaders that use them. So overall, Westgate had a great day because all of Westgate synergized with each other to make this day the amazing day that it was. |
